Definition

An organism which can grow at low temperatures around zero to five degrees Celsius, but has an optimal growth temperature around fifteen to twenty degrees Celsius or higher. This term is distinct from "psychrophile" in that a psychrotroph prefers warmer environments. Synonymous to "Psychrotolerant".
